Manufactured by Plastic Fabricators
The filter belt needs firm support while a vacuum belt filter is running. That support becomes especially important when the equipment is working with chemicals, acids, heat, or process liquids. Our PP grids are made up of robust and stiff polypropylene material which is manufactured in one single unit and then installed under the filter belt.
It is an ideal material for such components since it has properties like anti-corrosive, acid resistance, and thermal stability. The grids can also be utilized in the rotary drum filter process. PP grids are manufactured and supplied by Plastic Fabricators for vacuum belt filters in India. They are utilized in industries such as oil, chemical, pharmaceutical, food processing, and dyes.
A vacuum belt filter uses a moving filter belt to separate solids from liquids. Beneath that belt, a support surface is required to keep it properly supported during the filtration process.
The PP grid is utilised for this purpose. It is a hard, single-piece mould made of polypropylene. The grid is positioned under the filter belt and holds it up during the process where vacuum pulls out the liquid from the filtering media.
Material selection matters because the grid is exposed to the conditions around the filtration process. With its resistance to corrosion and acids, PP can be a useful option where conventional materials may not be suitable.
The same type of PP grid is also used in rotary drum filter systems.
For replacement work, the existing equipment and grid dimensions should be checked before production. An image, diagram or example of the present component can help in this case.
When you work with chemicals, you need tools you can count on. That’s why we make our scrapers, spatulas, and scoops from virgin polypropylene they’re built to handle tough jobs without letting you down.
Filtration equipment used in oil-related processes can operate around liquids and substances that require durable support components. PP grids provide a corrosion-resistant option for suitable filtration systems.
Chemical plants often deal with aggressive process liquids. In applications where polypropylene is chemically compatible with the process, PP grids can provide a useful alternative to materials that are more susceptible to corrosion.
Filtration is used throughout pharmaceutical processing. PP grids can be incorporated into suitable filtration equipment where polypropylene meets the process requirements.
Food processing systems may also use filtration equipment for separating solids and liquids. PP grids can be considered where the material and construction meet the requirements of the particular process.
Dye manufacturing and processing can involve chemically active liquids. The corrosion and acid resistance of polypropylene make PP grids suitable for selected filtration applications in this sector.
PP grids can be used in filtration equipment across several process industries.
Typical applications include:
They are a practical option where the supporting component needs to be made from a rigid material that can withstand corrosive or acidic process conditions.
The key characteristics of the PP grid are its material, construction, and intended use.
Rather than assuming a universal size or configuration, the dimensions should be matched to the filtration equipment for which the grid is being supplied.

PROVIDING SUPPORT TO THE BELT DURING THE FILTRATION PROCESS
The PP grid is not the filtering media but rather serves as a supporting surface for the belt during filtration.
As the belt undergoes filtration, the grid is always positioned below the belt and becomes part of the support surface, whereby vacuum draws liquid from the filter media leaving the solid particles behind on the belt.
Because the grid is part of a larger machine, its dimensions and arrangement need to match the existing equipment.
For a new installation, the filter manufacturer’s design should be followed. For replacement work, the dimensions of the existing grid are usually the best starting point.
PP grids are also used in rotary drum filter applications.
The rotary drum filter functions on a continuous basis when the drum is rotating through the filtration process. The components that are utilized in such an environment must be compatible with the process and the fluids involved.
Polypropylene is useful in such applications because of its resistance to corrosion, acids, and heat.
The exact grid arrangement will depend on the design of the filter. Existing dimensions or a drawing should therefore be shared when requesting a replacement or new component.
FILTRATION APPLICATION:-
PP grids are also used in rotary drum filter applications.
The rotary drum filter functions continuously when the drum is rotating through the filtration process. The components that are utilised in such an environment must be compatible with the process and the fluids involved.
The working environment is an important part of selecting a filtration component.
A grid may be exposed to process liquids, acids, heat, or moisture depending on the application. Polypropylene offers resistance to corrosion and acids while also providing heat resistance.
That makes it a practical material for many industrial filtration environments.
However, material suitability should always be checked against the actual process. The chemical being handled, its concentration, temperature, and exposure conditions can all affect the final material choice.
Our technical team is available to help you select the right profiles, verify load capacities, and confirm chemical compatibility for your specific application.
Industrial filtration equipment is not always built around a common catalogue dimension.
An older machine may have its own grid dimensions. A replacement component may also need to match the belt, support structure, or surrounding equipment.
